In 2021 AUNTS launches a series of outdoor performance events as part of NYC's OPEN CULTURE PROGRAM with the organizing team of Laurie Berg, Shana Crawford, Kadesmiles, Jordan Lloyd, Larissa Velez-Jackson, and Jessie Young; an organizing team leveraging skills in the performing arts, arts advocacy, arts administration, event production, choreography, teaching and the interdisciplinary arts. The team’s mission is to preserve the ethos of AUNTS events, upholding an equitable, diverse and supportive space for experimentation and creation for their invited artists, as well as to produce a safe, live outdoor event for the local and artistic community.

These performances are known as AUNTS Goes Public! and will take place in the streets across Brooklyn and Queens in June, July, and September. EVENT TWO: SOUTH OXFORD STREET between Fulton Street and Lafayette in Fort Greene Brooklyn!

Each 3 hour encounter is a *classic* one day only AUNTS event with multiple performers, overlapping performances, multi-disciplinary, body/non-body based, time oriented, finished / experimental / unfinished / process art, a dance party and more - and all free to the public and the people!
