A Daylong Celebration of Before Yesterday We Could Fly: An Afrofuturist Period Room at the Metropolitan Museum of Art

  • Metropolitan Museum of Art 1000 5th Avenue New York, NY, 10028 United States (map)

A Daylong Celebration of Before Yesterday We Could Fly: An Afrofuturist Period Room on Sunday, March 13th at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Healing has always been part of the foundation of Black futures, past and present. To honor our path towards the future, I’ll be holding an improvisational, sonic experience to open the 2PM artist conversation featuring several of the incredible artists in the exhibition including: Andile Dyalvane and Fabiola Jean-Louis

A Daylong Celebration is part of Afrofuturism, Carnegie Hall’s 2022 citywide festival.

Join us for a day of art making, storytelling, gallery chats, and artist conversations. Please register in advance for the artist panel. Also, the first 100 guests will receive a special edition Afrofuturism bulletin including an original graphic novella by author and illustrator John Jennings.
