Lifting the Ground Up [iter.02] The Interlude

I’m happy to invite all of you to ‘Part Two’ of this durational, public project paying tribute to the neighborhood and people of San Juan Hill with the premiere of the short film ‘Hands’ that I co-directed with Imani Dennison and the first of two Sound Healing Circles feat: Akeema-Zane, GENG PTP, Jonathan González, JWords and myself

FREE FOR ALL AGES

TIME: 7:30pm

•This activation will be broadcasted live on Montez Press Radio for those of you unable to make it in person. 📡✨

•Packets of seeds will be given away to attendees, so they can plant their own Native Plant Gardens inside or outside of their homes. 🪴🌱

•There will also be special herbal themed cocktails (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) made from locally grown Thyme to celebrate the premiere and project. 🍸🌿

MORE HERE: Rena Anakwe’s Lifting the Ground Up [iter.02] The Interlude is a public performance art ritual inspired by the element of earth and in honor of the communities of San Juan Hill, incorporating sound, visuals, plants, and scent. This evening includes the world premiere of the short film Hands, co-directed with Imani Dennison, documenting the fall communal planting ritual that commenced this phase of Lifting the Ground Up, along with a sound healing circle featuring artists/performers: Rena Anakwe, Akeema-Zane, GENG PTP, Jonathan González, and JWords.
